NTC fighters are still wrestling for control of Mr. Gadhafi's hometown of Sirte and the desert town of Bani Walid

Fighters with Libya's National Transitional Council are claiming ascendancy in the boondocks of Sabha, one of the few actual strongholds for loyalists to Moammar Gadhafi.

The NTC said Thursday that its armament accept acquired ascendancy of all districts of the southern boondocks but still face pockets of attrition from snipers.

Provisional ascendancy fighters said Wednesday that they had affected Gadhafi loyalists in abounding locations of the town, 750 kilometers south of Tripoli.
